We warmly congratulate our colleague Jan Mrlina on receiving the Life-lasting Achievement Award. On October 12, 2021, Dr. Mrlina received the Life-lasting Achievement Medal at the International Astronomy and Geophysics Conference in Cairo as the only foreign participant. It reflected his contribution to the development of gravimetry in Egypt. Since the 1990s, he has collaborated with Egyptian scientists, for example, on locating underground cavities in the area of the so-called City of the Dead, on gravimetric measurements in the Kalabsha geodynamic network on the western side of Lake Aswan, and on gravimetric surveys in Luxor in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. The award was presented to him by Prof. Dr. Gad El-Qady, Director of the National Research Institute for Astronomy and Geophysics in Helwan, and Prof. Dr. Elsayed A. Issawy, Director of the Aswan Seismological Research Center.
