Analysis of the geothermal energy potential at medium and large depths in the Czech Republic on the basis of available data
The main objective of the project is to analyze the potential of geothermal energy in the Czech Republic at depths of 400 m to 5000 m. Subsequently the refinement and redefinition of areas suitable for utilisation of geothermal energy by heat pumps, direct heat or heat generation will be performed.Updates and refinements of the existing geothermal potential maps of the Czech Republic will be carried out on the basis of existing obsolete geothermal maps and available archival data. Geothermal potential maps will be newly supplemented by additional map layers showing land use conflicts and limiting factors, so users will be able to see not only geothermal potential but also factors limiting its use.
