On Wednesday, Oct 19, five presentations of our PhD students are scheduled between 13:00 and 14:15 at the lecture hall. It is an opportunity for doctoral students to share their research ideas and progress.

Schedule of PhD seminar at GFÚ:

13:00 Martin Labuta (supervisor: J. Burjánek) – Assessment of three-dimensional site effects using seismic ambient vibrations

13:15 Sadegh Adineh (supervisor: P. Závada) – Structural, petrological, and geo-chronological analysis of salt diapirs and their cap-rocks: implications for growth dynamics of salt diapirs in Iran

13:30 Diana Konrádová (supervisor: J. Horálek) – Tectonic and volcanic earthquakes swarms in South-West Iceland and their similar and dissimilar attributes

13:45 Roman Beránek (supervisor: J. Mrlina) – Development of 3D gravity modelling of salt diapirs

14:00 Milosz Wcislo (supervisor: I. Pšenčík) – Seismic waves in inhomogeneous, weakly dissipative, anisotropic media

Václav Kuna, Active plate tectonic processes team, will present his work on the low-cost EEW (Earthquake Early Warning) system in Nepal, as part of the Institute of Petrology and Structural Geology (ÚPSG) seminar series at the Faculty of Science, Charles University (Albertov 6).
