On Thursday, April 14, our institute hosts a guest lecture by FILIP TOMEK (Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague).

LATE-VARISCAN ALTENBERG–TEPLICE CALDERA (NW BOHEMIAN MASSIF): REVIEW OF VOLCANISM, TEMPO, STRUCTURE, AND EMPLACEMENT PROCESSES.

Dr. Filip Tomek (PhD 2015) is currently an assistant professor at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. His principal research focus is on geodynamic aspects of magmatic and volcanic processes and include also rock magnetism and paleomagnetism. His achievements have been recognized, for instance, by the Czech Academy of Sciences Otto Wichterle Award in 2019.

The talk will begin at 15:00, in the Lecture Hall of the Institute, and will be accessible also by Zoom. Those outside of the Institute of Geophysics interested in online access should contact kusbach@ig.cas.cz for obtaining a ZOOM meeting link.
