Our colleague Václav Vavryčuk of the Institute of Geophysics of the Czech Academy of Sciences received the 2021 Outstanding Reviewer award for his peer-review efforts for the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America (SSA). Peer reviewing is a critical part of the research process, dissemination and communication of results. It depends uniquely on scientists who volunteer their time to provide critical assessments of the scientific work of others to help them improve.
