When the Earth bends…
The surface of Earth is formed by a solid layer termed a crust in which the stress can be accumulated. When this happens, the deformation of the rocks might occur and therefore faults, joints or folds can be formed within them. Such deformations can be seen both in the microscale and as well as in the macroscale. And sometimes, the resulting features can be very, very, very, VERY large! The entire mountains can emerge! How?
That is what we demonstrated in our TikTok video. At the beginning of the video you can see a real rock which is located in Prague (Czech Republic). Wrinkles created during the mountain-forming process are very visible. During the experiment we tried to demonstrate the mountain-forming process.
